First-time buyers still benefit from new home incentives

First-time buyers in Queensland can still claim up to $7,000 to build their new dream home at a Peet community.

Purchasers looking to buy their first home can still apply for the State Government’s First Home Owners Grant and may also be eligible for duty concessions, making their purchase of a new home even more affordable.

In addition to the State Government incentives, purchasers at Peet communities in Queensland may also benefit from Peet’s ‘Flying Start’ package which makes it even easier and more affordable to build their new home at a Peet community.

Peet Limited’s Greenwood Grove in Cooroy is seeking applications for support from local community groups in need of a helping hand.

The Peet Community Sponsorship Program is open to all volunteer groups, service agencies, clubs, schools and individuals in the local area in need of a boost toward current activities or help to kick-start a new initiative.

Peet Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said Peet’s focus is on building communities, including the development of master-planned residential communities like Greenwood Grove, and establishing supportive links with local community groups.

“Peet is pleased that we are able to offer support to groups who might include local schools, clubs, and associations,” he said. “We know that these groups are often the heart of a community, and our sponsorship program provides us with a tremendous opportunity to become more actively involved.”

Organisations undertaking community projects in the areas of the environment, sport, the arts, youth, leisure and recreation are particularly encouraged to apply for sponsorship.

The boutique community, comprising around 170 homesites, combines the best of treeside and seaside living just minutes from the picturesque Cooroy town centre, and a short drive from bustling Noosa.

Nine hectares of land in Greenwood Grove has been set aside for parkland and recreational facilities, including a barbecue, picnic area, basketball court and playgrounds.

The closing date for applications to the Greenwood Grove Community Sponsorship Program is Friday 12 March 2010. Successful applicants will be notified within six weeks of the closing date.

Highway upgrade boosts lifestyle benefits of Greenwood Grove

The ideal balance of tranquil living within easy reach of services offered at Greenwood Grove is being further enhanced, with the State Government recently starting work to upgrade the Bruce Highway.

Improvements are being made between Sankeys Road and Traveston Road, some 11 kilometres from the new residential estate, which will move traffic further away from Greenwood Grove and ensure the idyllic lifestyle on offer remains undisturbed.

On completion, the Bruce Highway will also benefit residents who travel to Gympie for leisure and work by providing a safer and more relaxed journey.

The Queensland Government prioritised the upgrade of this section of the Highway due to safety and traffic needs and preliminary works began in July 2009 as part of the $613 million Bruce Highway upgrade between Cooroy and Curra.

The Highway provides direct access to the quiet town of Cooroy, in which Greenwood Grove is located.

Conveniently positioned in easy reach of the delights of Noosa and Tewantin, both just 15 minutes away, Greenwood Grove provides a relaxed lifestyle in a leafy, natural setting.
